Homemade Pie Crust
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp sugar
- 1 cup cold butter (unsalted)
- ¼-½ cup ice cold water
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, add flour, salt, and sugar and mix together well.
- Slice the cold butter and use a pastry cutter to mix it into the flour mixture until you have a crumbly texture.
- Slowly add the ice-cold water until you reach the right dough consistency. Avoid making it too wet. (Note: this recipe may use up to the full ½ cup of water.)
- When rolling out the dough, sprinkle flour on your cutting board.
- Use your hands to knead the dough, then divide it in half for easier handling.
